Vintage Finds

I was finally able to get to a thrift store. The kids were in tow so I wasn't able to look much. Overall I found it to be a little pricey. But I did find these....Early 50's to early 70's. Which do I make first?
I found these in my daughter's size. (I can't get the photo to flip for some reason). She has picked out the green plaid one and wants the socks and all. Is it possible she may love something I sew her? Found this amusing...would not be found on today's patterns.
Now it's the process of going through each pattern and making sure I have all the pieces, and then deciding which one I am going to attempt. Love it!

A Few Of My Favorite Things....

So here are a few things that have been making me smile lately:

* Visits from family. So much fun and such a help in the sanity area until Greg can get here permanently. Which will be very soon!(My sister and her hubby and soon to be?? were just here.)
* Finally having a batch of cookies not come out like pancakes! I am slowly getting this high altitude baking thing figured out. Major blow to the baking ego when I first got here.(Hence the lack of recipes posted lately.)
* Never having to mow the lawn again.
* The gorgeous weather....including the lightening storms and random hail.

* The list of sewing projects etc. I have swimming in my head ........
* Volunteering to head the craft group at church. I need to meet people and a friend of Mod Podge is a friend of mine.

Green Flowers

I finally pulled out my sewing machine. I have a huge list of tutorials, patterns etc. that I want to work on. I finished my shirt made from a linen curtain/table liner I picked up at a remnant shop when I was in SF. It's from a Made by Wendy pattern. I think I will make more from some vintage sheets. Check this sewing gal out... Emu. She has used the same pattern for some shirts and the vintage dresses she sews...so in love. I am almost done my dress from a vintage pattern. The thought of dragging my kids to a store to buy a zipper etc. is definitely keeping me from finishing it for a bit. Maybe I will brave it soon...might have to resort to the Icee bribe.

Settling In

So, I have been in my new home for about a month now. I am finally feeling settled in. Are all the boxes unpacked? No...and there is a good chance they will still be on my to do list until we buy a house. Greg is still in AZ, but was just here this past weekend. We've had family visiting as well which has made the time go faster until Greg is here permanently. Lot's of fun.
